Through play-based activities and project exploration, children develop communication skills, creativity, and confidence while forming connections with teachers and peers.
From 2 to 3 Years Old: Child Development Support For Every Stage
Research consistently shows that early childhood education plays a critical role in shaping a child's future success in school and in life. During these early years, children build the foundation for language, problem-solving, confidence, and social skills through meaningful play, exploration, and supportive relationships with caring teachers. When young children experience a nurturing learning environment at this important stage, they develop the curiosity, independence, and strong developmental skills that help them thrive in preschool, kindergarten, and beyond.
- Group Time - During group time, children gather with their teacher to sing songs, hear stories, and practice communication skills as they learn to listen, interact with peers, and participate in shared classroom activities.
- Sensory Table - At the sensory table, children scoop sand, pour water, and explore natural objects that support cognitive development while strengthening fine motor coordination and curiosity.
- Art Center - In the art center, children experiment with painting, collage, and drawing to express creativity and strengthen the small muscles needed for writing and coordination.
- Block Center - While building with blocks and other objects, children practice problem-solving, cooperation, and planning, and learn to balance structures and work with friends.
- Book Center - In the book center, children listen to stories, explore books, and begin recognizing sounds and words that support early language and communication development.
- Science and Discovery Center - In the science center, children observe natural materials, plant seeds, and explore how things change over time, strengthening their observation skills and curiosity about the world.
- Dramatic Play - Through dramatic play, children pretend, interact with peers, and practice communication while building imagination and social confidence.

The teachers are the very best at FOD. They are invested in the school. Majority of the teachers have been there 5 plus years. Communication is very important to them and it shows. The children are active and happy! They are provided with open ended activities. My child loves coming to summer camp!
