At Field of Dreams, our 3-year-old preschool program incorporates the South Carolina Early Learning Standards, which guide development through six key domains: language, social and emotional growth, cognitive development, health and physical development, mathematical thinking, and approaches to learning. These standards help ensure every child develops the skills and confidence needed for preschool success and a strong start in kindergarten.

Daily Routine

Each day includes group learning, exploration centers, outdoor play, storytelling, music, and creative projects. Our schedule balances structured learning moments with open-ended discovery, keeping preschoolers engaged and excited about learning.

Classroom Experience

Our classrooms provide a nurturing environment where children interact with peers, explore materials, and develop confidence through guided discovery. Teachers encourage preschoolers to share ideas, work together, and build meaningful relationships while helping them develop important developmental milestones.

About Our Preschool for Three-Year-Olds

Three-year-olds experience incredible growth as their language skills expand, friendships deepen, and imagination blossoms. At this age, children begin to express their ideas more clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and explore the world with greater independence. High-quality early childhood education during these formative years plays an important role in a child’s future success. Research shows that strong preschool programs help children develop communication skills, executive function abilities, and the social confidence needed to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. At Field of Dreams, our goal is to help every child develop a love of learning while building the skills that prepare them for the next stage of their educational journey.

From 3 to 4 Years Old: Child Development Support For Every Stage

Our play-based learning centers are designed to support the South Carolina Early Learning Standards while helping preschoolers explore creativity, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence through hands-on discovery.

  • Group Time - During group time, preschoolers gather with their teachers to share stories, sing songs, and participate in discussions that strengthen language, listening, and communication skills.
  • Sensory Table - Children explore textures such as sand and water while experimenting with natural materials that support observation, curiosity, and early science discovery.
  • Art Center - Creative projects such as painting, collage, and drawing allow children to express their ideas while strengthening fine motor coordination and imagination.
  • Block Center - Building with blocks encourages preschoolers to solve problems, collaborate with friends, and develop early critical-thinking skills as they construct imaginative structures.
  • Book Center - In the book center, children listen to stories and explore books independently while developing vocabulary, early literacy skills, and a love of reading.
  • Science and Discovery Center - Through simple experiments, nature exploration, and observation activities, preschoolers begin learning about the world around them and develop curiosity about science.
  • Dramatic Play - Pretend play encourages imagination and social interaction as children role-play different experiences and practice communication with their peers.

The teachers are the very best at FOD. They are invested in the school. Majority of the teachers have been there 5 plus years. Communication is very important to them and it shows. The children are active and happy! They are provided with open ended activities. My child loves coming to summer camp!
